İmamoğlu addressed the youth, saying, "I have only one request from you."

CHP's imprisoned presidential candidate and Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu wrote a letter from the Marmara Prison in Silivri.
Addressing young people, İmamoğlu, in his letter, referred to Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk's words about youth, saying, "We will rebuild this country with your dreams, your ideas, and your determination. Together, by saying 'Full Speed Ahead!', we will build a Türkiye where justice, freedom, and equality prevail, hand in hand."
A LETTER FROM İMAMOĞLU TO YOUNG PEOPLE Ekrem İmamoğlu, who has been imprisoned for 167 days, included the following in his letter published in BirGün Newspaper:
"Dear young people, I am writing this letter from my cell in Silivri Prison and I want to share with you my longing, my hopes, and my feelings. I miss you so much…
You are the greatest force shaping this country's future in your hands and carrying hope in your hearts. Life is a battleground, sometimes with steep paths and sometimes with vast horizons. Youth is the most enthusiastic, most determined, and most inspiring moment of this long journey. This is the time to speak your mind, to turn dreams into reality, and to embrace the belief that we can make the world a better place through solidarity. You are writing not only your own story, but the destiny of a nation.
I know that today, you face many obstacles to experiencing the free, fair, and equal youth you deserve. Inequalities in educational opportunities, housing and livelihood concerns, the struggle to find a job after graduation, the lack of reward for your efforts, the pressures you face when you raise your just demands… These challenges are realities that test your patience, courage, and resolve. But remember this: You are the conscience of this land, representatives of change and hope. When I look at you, I see my brothers and sisters who dream, who carry hope, who, despite all the negative atmosphere in the country, never give up thinking, learning, and producing, who stand tall in the squares for Turkey against injustice, who fearlessly raise their voices for justice, and who fight for freedom and equality.
HE REFERRED TO ATATÜRK’S WORDS “The Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk expressed his unwavering belief in you by saying, ‘We will leave everything to the youth... They are the hope, the luminous flowers of the future. All my hope is in the youth.’ With these words, he demonstrated not just a wish, but his will to entrust the future of a nation into the hands of the youth. You are the young people who carry this legacy of Atatürk and walk on the path he showed, guided by science, reason, and conscience. This legacy rises on your shoulders; because those who will build the future of this country are you who keep his ideas alive, who do not bow to injustice, and who believe in freedom and justice.”
"YOU ARE A GENERATION THAT KEEPS HOPE ALIVE DESPITE EVERY DIFFICULTY" "My greatest wish is for your friends who have been unlawfully deprived of their freedom to return to you as soon as possible, so that together, shoulder to shoulder, we can build a more just, freer, and more equal Turkey. Every obstacle we face on this path will be overcome with your solidarity, courage, and determination. You are the heart of this country, the architects of the future. You are a generation that does not remain silent in the face of injustice, stands against injustice, and keeps hope alive despite every difficulty.
I have only one request of you: Never lose that unwavering hope in your hearts, that determined light in your eyes. Discuss, learn, share, and empower each other together. Each of you is a seed planted in this land, a torch that will illuminate the future.
With your dreams, your ideas, and your determination, we will rebuild this country. Together, we will say, "Full Speed Ahead!" and hand in hand, we will build a Türkiye where justice, freedom, and equality prevail. Your energy, your faith, and your solidarity will rewrite this country's future. I love you deeply and eagerly await the day we will be reunited.
